Following a national search, The Venture Center board of directors has unanimously appointed Arthur Orduña as the organization’s next executive director. He succeeds Wayne Miller who helmed the nonprofit startup group before taking another job out of state.

Orduña will guide and facilitate the organization’s growth, strategic direction and corporate innovation and entrepreneurship programs, including its award-winning fintech program.

He starts effective January 16, 2023.

“The Venture Center spent the last nine years building an incredible springboard for entrepreneurial pursuits,” said Orduña. “I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the organization’s role in forging long-lasting and high-impact relationships to build a culture of innovation here in Arkansas and beyond, and I’m confident our next growth phase will build upon Arkansas’ reputation as a tech hub with a dynamic future.”

Orduña brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience developing innovative technology products and strategic partnerships across diverse industries and launching disruptive new services for entities ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 public companies.

He most recently served as chief innovation officer for Little Rock investment firm Circumference Group, facilitating engagement with entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders in the early-stage technology ecosystem.

“Arthur’s global experience, knowledge, contacts and abilities will lead The Venture Center into the next phase of growth and build our world-class programs for entrepreneurs here in Arkansas and around the globe,” said Dr. James Hendren, chairman of the board. “As he joins us in a full-time capacity in his new role with the Venture Center, he will continue to support Circumference Group empowering both entities to share resources and network connections.”
