Lexicon Inc. announced Monday (Jan. 16) the promotion of Steve Grandfield as chief operating officer. Grandfield has served in several management positions, most recently serving as president of Prospect Steel, a role he will hold until he assumes the role of COO.

Working out of the company’s headquarters in Little Rock, he will oversee the company’s daily operations, review the efficiency of current business functions and collaborate with executive management to set and meet business objectives.

“As a longtime Lexicon employee, Steve’s strengths of patience, organizational awareness, relationship building and scheduling position him to step into this new role and drive our culture of success,” said Patrick Schueck, president and CEO of Lexicon Inc. “Steve will strengthen our processes and procedures, and take our operational execution to new levels of excellence.”

In his nearly 20 years of service since joining Prospect Steel, Grandfield has been part of numerous key projects, including the Tenaris Seamless Pipe Mill in Bay City, Texas and the Shreveport Convention Center in Shreveport. Before joining the company, he served as a structural engineer at SEMF Holdings Consulting Engineers and Pitt & Sherry Consulting Engineers in Australia.

Grandfield graduated from the University of Tasmania in Australia with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.

The Lexicon family of companies provides a wide range of services, including construction management, steel fabrication, erection, mechanical installation and plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial and bridge projects, as well as a full spectrum of golf course construction, renovation and management services.

The company now includes Custom Metals, Prospect Steel, Steel Fabricators of Monroe, Lexicon Energy Services, Lexicon Industrial Constructors, Lexicon Industrial Maintenance, Heritage Links and Universal.
