Tom Arens has been promoted to chief technology officer for ARcare as the healthcare network continues to grow in Arkansas, Mississippi and Kentucky.

In this role, Arens, who has served as ARcare senior vice president of technology since 2020, will bring more reporting and analytics to traditional healthcare. He has a broad background in information technology and has led diverse teams of IT professionals.

Arens began his IT career with Tyson Foods as an SAP programmer, developing financial applications for Tyson’s domestic and international business segments. During his time at Tyson, Arens also worked in both the HR and sustainability groups, developing business intelligence tools used for enterprise reporting and analytics.

He also worked as senior director of technology and analytics for Acorn Influence, a company that facilitates influencer marketing with national and international brands. He was then hired as the vice president of technology by Infinity Care Solution, which was purchased by ARcare.

“We recognize the role that technology and data play today in caring for patients,” said T.J. Whitehead, president of ARcare. “It is critical to helping patients achieve overall health. We believe as chief technology officer, Tom Arens is the individual to lead that and support innovative ideas to make caring for patients more convenient, less burdensome and easily accessible.”

Arens holds a bachelor of science in business administration degree from the University of Arkansas.
