NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is now offering Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy curriculum and the opportunity to prepare for AWS Certification exams and careers in the fast-growing cloud-computing industry.

“We are proud to make the AWS Academy curriculum available to our local and global NWACC community of learners,” said NWACC Dean of Workforce and Economic Development Megan Bolinder. “The last six months has demonstrated the need to pandemic-proof our workforce, and upskilling workers in multi-cloud applications is essential to making that happen.”

NWACC’s course offerings include AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, Cloud Architecting and Data Analytics, with plans for a full deployment of all AWS Academy courses by June 2022. The college’s curriculum is taught by AWS Academy-accredited instructors, ensuring the program reflects current services and up-to-date best practices, while preparing students with the necessary industry skills and proficiency in AWS technology.

“The rapid rise in cloud computing is increasing the number of high-quality jobs worldwide, and the technical skills that students develop through the AWS Academy will position them for promising careers today and in the future,” Bolinder said. “Teaching AWS Academy courses supports the NWACC mission to offer quality, affordable and accessible training that strengthens individual earning power and our community’s workforce. Our future is quite literally in the cloud.”
