The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) is seeking feedback on whether a highway should be built between the Bella Vista Bypass and the U.S. Highway 412 bypass.

Asked about project details such as construction timeline and cost, Randy Ort, deputy director and chief operating officer for ArDOT, said this information is not yet available.

“This is the beginning of a study to see if there is a need for such a connector, and if there is a need, what might be some feasible routes to address that need,” Ort said. “The study will take about a year to complete.”

The proposed highway would be west of the existing Interstate 49 and run north and south between Arkansas Highway 612, or the U.S. Highway 412 bypass, and Arkansas Highway 549, or the Bella Vista Bypass.

Residents can provide feedback and view exhibits on the project from through July 13. Link here for the project website.
