USDA halts meat recall updates on its website while shutdown persists

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has halted updates on its website for meat and poultry recall updates because of the partial government shutdown. The last update listed on the site is dated Dec. 30.
The U.S. government shutdown is now in its third week. The agency released the following statement regarding the lack of updates on its website during that time.
“Due to a lapse in federal funding, this USDA website will not be actively updated. Once funding has been reestablished, online operations will continue.”
