NanoMech Inc., a Springdale-based company that is a global leader in nano-lubricant manufacturing, has added to its executive leadership team and bolstered its presence in Detroit.

The company announced Monday (July 16) the appointment of Dan Carroll as president of its automotive and industrial group. Carroll will oversee the Detroit office and assemble a sales and engineering team, according to a news release.

Before joining NanoMech, Carroll spent more than 25 years in various leadership positions with Royal Oak Industries, a privately-owned contract machining and assembly company. During his tenure, Carroll established the company as a market leader in the finish machining of engine blocks and cylinder heads, according to the release.

“Dan has tremendous experience in industrial manufacturing in both metro Detroit and nationally,” said Jim Phillips, NanoMech chairman and CEO. “His strong experience combined with his leadership capabilities make him the perfect fit to lead our exponential growth into the global industrial marketplace.

NanoMech has offices in Detroit, Dallas and Houston.

“I am pleased to welcome NanoMech to the Detroit area,” Sandy Baruah, president and chief executive officer of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, said in the release. “NanoMech has been working with several of our regionally-based global firms and the establishment of a significant presence by NanoMech will be good for them and our regional economy.”

NanoMech uses nanotechnology to develop advanced products for industrial and mechanical applications such as lubricants, coatings and specialty chemicals. The products have increased performance, efficiency and reliability in multiple industries such as energy, transportation, aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, agricultural equipment and the military.
