As executive vice president of Community Bank of North Arkansas, Doug Lynch has a full schedule. He acts as chief lending officer of a bank that roughly has doubled its assets since Community Bank and the Bank of Elkins merged in 1999.

About 80 percent of the bank’s current $219 million in assets come from the lending department, Lynch said. Managing the bank’s growth is his primary responsibility.

He originally joined Community Bank in January of 1998 as vice president of the Springdale market and was in 1999 promoted to EVP of the lending department. Last year, Lynch took on the additional challenge of managing the operations division at Community Bank.

Lynch, who turned 38 in June, is now the strongest link between the two flanks at the bank.

His dual devotion positioned him to help build a strong culture within the bank, Lynch said. He added that developing employee loyalties will be key in managing the bank’s continued growth.

“I spend my days looking for opportunities to make heroes out of employees,” Lynch said.

“I want to be known as a good recruiter and let the employees shine for themselves.”

Lynch graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
