USA Truck is suddenly without a chief financial officer. Michael Borrows, who was hired in September 2014 as the CFO for the Van Buren-based trucking and logistics company, resigned Thursday (May 19).

No reason was given for his sudden departure.

USA Truck CEO Randy Rogers, who joined the company Jan. 14, provided a short statement.

“On behalf of the entire Company, we would like to thank Michael for his service to the Company. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors. The Board will commence a process to identify a successor to Mr. Borrows.”

In the company’s first quarter earnings report, Rogers said a highlight of the quarter was having a management team in place.

Prior to joining USA Truck, Borrows worked at Pollen, Inc., a technology-based company doing business with Fortune 500 companies, many in the transportation sector. He has also worked in transportation and finance with Kansas City Southern and BNSF Railway. Borrows replaced Clif Beckham, who resign as executive vice president and chief financial officer in August 2014 after serving as CEO of the trucking firm for several years.
