Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin, columnist John Brummett, and TB&P contributor John Burris discussed a variety of state and national political topics on this week’s TV edition of Talk Business & Politics, which airs on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on KATV Ch. 7.
Brummett chaired the political roundtable as the three contributors offered their thoughts on the state of Republican Party politics in the U.S. and in Arkansas.
The group included some predictions on how they see the Donald Trump phenomenon playing out nationally, who they think may win the Arkansas Presidential vote, and the struggles of the Mike Huckabee for President campaign.
On state politics, the panel also explored GOP primary politics and several key races in the State Senate as well as health care politics and how the private option and successive legislation might alter the program and the political ramifications for 2016 candidates.
Finally, Griffin offered insight on how he will lead a review of the Arkansas Department of Human Services for better efficiencies. Gov. Asa Hutchinson asked Griffin to take up the challenge late last week.
