Another Starbucks is headed to Searcy.

A Jonesboro based real estate development company announced plans Thursday to bring another location of the coffee giant to White County.

Officials with Haag Brown Development said a new retail project will include Starbucks and Arkansas Braces.

The new retail center will be located on the old Marple Auto Sales site, at the corner of East Race Street and Rand Drive in Searcy.

The principals for the company, Joshua Brown and Greg Haag, worked alongside Hank Kelley of Little Rock-based Flake and Kelley, who represented Starbucks.

“I feel like we have addressed a real need in this market,” Brown said. “As someone who drives from Jonesboro to Little Rock often, Searcy is a natural stopping point along the route. By the time you get to Jacksonville, it feels like you are too close to your destination to drink a cup of coffee.”

Haag Brown Development will be the developers for this project.

“The building we developed for Starbucks in Jonesboro has been well received and seems to function extremely well for the tenants,” Haag said. “As a result, we are using the same architectural design in Fayetteville and on this project in Searcy.”

“The Hays family has made an incredible five acre tract available and we are looking forward to developing the remaining lots,” Brown said. “Landing the Starbucks deal on the first acre is a great way to kick off the entire project.”

Haag said the project has received a lot of attention.

“I have a feeling things will move fast. Since placing the first signs on the Hays property, we have had more national/retail/restaurant activity than any property we are working on in the state,” Haag said.

Haag Brown closed on the land Tuesday (March 10) with construction set to begin immediately.

This 6,300 square foot building will sit on one acre of land on East Race Street.

The new project will join other restaurants, offices and retailers in the area such as the White County Medical Center, AT&T, Chick-fil-a, Chilli’s, Fuji and Hays Clothing.

An existing Starbucks is located on the campus of Harding University in Searcy.
