Bliss Cupcake Co-Owner Will Bring Slim Chickens to North Texas
Flint Harris has fared well with cupcakes. He’s setting his sights now on chickens.
Harris, a Fayetteville businessman, is now a franchisee for Fayetteville-based Slim Chickens, with plans to introduce the restaurant chain to North Texas.
Harris is a co-owner of three Bliss Cupcake stores in Northwest Arkansas. He and business partner Max Moore have also franchised the concept out to additional locations in Jonesboro, Conway and Fort Smith.
“This is my first involvement with Slims from the business side, but I am a longtime customer,” Harris said. “Bliss is doing great, but I see a great opportunity with Slims.”
With Slim Chickens, Harris said he will develop the area in and around his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, (Tarrant County) with five new locations. The first restaurant is scheduled to open in Keller in June and a second could open before the end of the year. Both locations will be new construction.
Slim Chickens, founded in 2003 by Greg Smart and Tom Gordon, is in a rapid growth phase. There are now 17 restaurants open in five states, and Smart said there are 10 more scheduled to open this year.
The company is looking for still more franchisees for other counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
