Blogger Amanda Fiveash, a frequent contributor at OnlyinArk.com, shares her experiences in Mountain View learning about the past, present and future of Stone County Ironworks.

The hand-forged iron works maker builds everything from beds to lamps to coffee tables.

As an equity partner in 1990 when Stone County Ironworks was rated No. 252 on the annual list of the 500 fastest growing privately held companies, Corky Baker decided it wasn’t the right time for the family. So they sold their stake in the business.

For the next 17 years, it was something that always stayed in the back of his mind.
