Walmart AMP Sells 88K Tickets at New Location
The Walmart AMP sold 88,000 tickets for 17 concerts during 2014, the first season in its permanent location at 5079 Northgate Road in Rogers.
That’s a 340-percent rise in ticket sales from the previous year, when 20,000 tickets were sold, according to Erin Rogers, public relations director for Walton Arts Center, which owns the AMP.
This year’s headliners included Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Steely Dan, Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss, Foster the People, Santana, Foreigner, Jake Owen and Boston.
“We are delighted by the impact the Walmart AMP has had on Northwest Arkansas,” said Peter Lane, president and CEO of Walton Arts Center. “The diversity of artists and the growth of patrons who experienced a performance during our inaugural season validates our hope that the Walmart AMP will become a major attraction for our region.”
