Creepy Crawly Insects of Hobbs State Park

Family Orientated Program at Hobbs State Park to Focus on the Small, Creepy, and Risky World of Insects

Ever since he was three years old, Austin Jones has been turning over rocks, looking under leaves, and peering into hollow logs looking for bugs that make Northwest Arkansas their home.   As the years went by, Jones’s interest in those multi-legged critters continued until he gained his Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Arkansas.  Insects, spiders, mites, and various other arthropods, he loves them all. 

Join Austin Jones, entomologist and Academic Coordinator for Upward Bound, when he presents his family friendly program, “Very Ento-resting” at the Hobbs State Park visitor center.   He will speak of the facts, myths, and legends of local “creepy crawlers”.  (And he will be bringing some of them for show and tell)

Where:   Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area visitor center located on Hwy 12 just east of the Hwy 12/War Eagle Road intersection.
