Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission CEO Alan McClain is leaving the state agency and will join the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI), an independent non-profit based in Cambridge, Mass.

McClain says he will be succeeded by James Daniel, current AWCC Assistant CEO. The transition will take place on Sept. 3.

“We are excited to have someone of Alan’s knowledge, credibility, and experience joining WCRI,” Dr. Richard Victor, WCRI’s executive director, told WorkersCompensation.com. “He will be a wonderful addition to our staff and help us continue to grow the Institute’s revenues and impact in an increasing number of states.”

“It’s an honor to be joining WCRI,” said McClain. “As someone who has been working with workers’ compensation for over 25 years, I am well aware of WCRI’s work and its reputation. I have used their research often and look forward to sharing this research with public officials and stakeholders across the country.”

McClain has been CEO of the commission since January 2005 and has worked at the agency since 2000.
