The American Society of Materials has awarded Dr. Ajay Malshe, CTO of NanoMech, Inc., a Fellowship, officially recognizing him for his contribution in material science “for the invention, development, and commercialization of the world’s first nanoparticle composite coating of super-hard cubic boron nitride (cBN) for cutting tools and wear resistance applications, as well as various nanomanufacturing processes and lubricants.”

The award was presented at the Materials Science & Technology 99th annual meeting, held October 9, 2012.

“Ajay is so deserving of this award as he is one of America’s most outstanding scientists and his invention of TuffTek will provide manufacturers worldwide dramatic improvements in cutting tool performance and which is already generating millions in revenue for NanoMech,” said James Phillips, Chairman and CEO of NanoMech Inc. “Due to Dr. Malshe’s invention of TuffTek, every manufacturing cutting tool company in the world will have to apply this coating technology in order to be competitive and state of the art.”

“This is a wonderful honor, and I look forward to being a Fellow in such a distinguished technology Society. I am so proud of the worldwide demand for TuffTek from manufacturing tool companies and playing a role in advancing manufacturing capabilities in the United States,” said Dr. Malshe.
