The Arkansas Lottery Commission culled its list of finalists for its top executive post and reduced the director’s high-paying salary by nearly one-half.

Commissioners met in Little Rock on Monday (Feb. 6) and selected 7 finalists for its executive director slot from a list of 96 candidates.

The 7 finalists include: Richard Knight; Charles McIntyre; Bob Nash; Joan Schoubert; Bill Stovall; Edwin Van Petten; and Bishop Woosley.

Woolsey, who currently serves as the lottery’s legal counsel, is the only existing employee of the agency to apply for the position.

Lottery commissioners also reduced the pay of the director’s post to a maximum of $175,000. Former Arkansas Lottery Director Ernie Passailague was paid $330,000.

The $175,000 salary ranks 10th nationally among pay for lottery directors.
