St. Edward Mercy has been named one of the top hospitals in the nation by the National Research Corporation (NRC) – the nation’s leading consumer health care study organization.

The hospital was one of just three in Arkansas to receive the designation, and it’s the 8th consecutive year the hospital received the title.

The award is based on the NRC Ticker data, the largest consumer survey on Healthcare in the United States. Consumers in the Fort Smith market have ranked St. Edward Mercy Medical Center at the top of the list based on four essential consumer metrics — Best Overall Quality; Best Image/Reputation; Best Doctors; and, Best Nurses.

NRC’s Ticker Survey is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. No other study used to measure hospital performance and preferences contains more consumer responses than NRC’s study.

“This award is really a tribute to our doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers and their commitment to providing compassionate care and exceptional service to those we serve,” said Kim Day, interim president/CEO of St. Edward Mercy. “We are honored to receive this award because it comes from our patients.  We will continue to look for new ways to make their experiences the best possible.”
