Governor Stretching State For Jobs Announcements
Gov. Mike Beebe (D) will use the first half of this week to underscore new jobs in Arkansas.
Later today, Beebe will attend a ribbon cutting at New Millennium Building Systems in Hope. The company makes steel joists and took over for the property of the defunct Commercial Metals Co., which closed last year. (UPDATE: Millennium officials said they will start with 58 new jobs, slightly more than previously announced, with the prospect of adding another 120 workers if demand allows.)
Tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 25), Beebe will join officials in Jonesboro for a "significant jobs announcement" at Unilever, which makes a variety of hair care products.
These two developments come on the heels of last week’s jobs news in Phillips County, where 89 new jobs are coming from more than $4 million in investment from 4 different companies.
On Wednesday, Beebe will join Talk Business host Roby Brock for a "Talk Politics Q&A" session. The Governor will field questions from Talk Business viewers, listeners and readers.
If you’ve got a question for the Governor, you can submit to [email protected] or via Twitter or Facebook by asking your question and adding the #talkpolitics hashtag.
