Lessons From Sunday School: Politicians Very Unpopular

I noticed a bit of anecdotal evidence of the huge discontent towards politicians this morning in Sunday School.

The lesson today was on dealing with guilt.  Several times during the discussion anytime someone brought up a negative example, they referred to politicians or Washington D.C.

An example of prideful people – politicians.  An example of someone who always blames others for their problems – those guys in Washington D.C.  It went on like this the whole hour.

This is notable because this wasn’t a discussion about politics or even a politically-minded class. But, anytime the topic moved to an example of someone not doing the right thing, politicians were the first ones to come to people’s minds.

And the polls back this up.  A recent CBS News poll showed a record low Congressional approval number at only 14% with 82% disapproval.

People are not happy and it is not just directed at President Obama, but at pretty much every elected official.
