St. Vincent Breaks Ground On $47 Million Site
On Friday, St. Vincent Health System held a groundbreaking ceremony at its 37-acre site in west Little Rock.
The $47 million campus extension will host outpatient services, health and wellness facilities, aging care and a physician space.
“This groundbreaking for St. Vincent West is another great milestone as St. Vincent continues to grow and change with Little Rock, to expand access to quality health care and build those services based on the specific needs of the community," said Catholic Health Initiatives COO Michael Rowan.
St. Vincent West will be located at the crossroads of Chenal Parkway, Rahling Road and La Grande Drive, adjacent from the Promenade at Chenal shopping mall.
It will be completed in multiple phases. Construction on the property will begin immediately with an anticipated opening date of September 2011 for Phase One which will include family physicians, an urgent care facility and expansion of The Longevity Center at St. Vincent.
Phase Two, which begins later in 2011, will include construction of outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging and a host of specialty physician offices.
“St. Vincent West will bring comprehensive, quality, accessible and affordable services close to home for the residents of Little Rock. Beyond bringing much needed health care services to the community, this also represents a significant investment by St. Vincent in the future of Central Arkansas and Little Rock. We hope our commitment will spur further growth and expansion to create jobs and enhance the economy of our community,” said St. Vincent CEO Peter Banko.
