Readers might have wondered about a Real Deals item in our Dec. 13 edition. The item bore down on a land transaction in Bentonville where the George Nunnally Chevrolet dealership is being built.

According to the Arkansas Secretary of State, officers of Great Northwest Development LLC are J.B. Hunt LLC, Tim Graham LLC and Schwyhart Holdings LLC. But that’s not the case.

Schwyhart Holdings hasn’t been a part of that group since Bill Schwyhart and Robert Thornton split with the original Pinnacle Group, which also included Tim Graham and J.B. Hunt (then Johnelle Hunt after J.B. passed away), in 2007.

The way we understand it, the newest forms from the Secretary of State don’t even require entities to provide an updated list of officers, so the group has not been able to update its information.

A spokeswoman from the Secretary of State did not return a call before press time, so we couldn’t verify the change to the forms.

As we see it, if entities are allowed to omit updated officer information, it will greatly hinder the quality of information gleaned from the office. We’ll follow up on this.
