Jerry Jones’ World
SportsBusiness Journal has released its annual list of the 50 most influential people in – you guessed it! – sports business.
Ranked 10th, down a spot from last year, is a certain former Razorback now known more prominently as the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. That’s Jerry Jones, of course.
Here’s what the SportsBusiness folks had to say about Jones: “Jerry Jones is not going to become the first NFL owner to field a Super Bowl team and stage the game. But he remains one of the league’s most influential voices, with his revenue-rich stadium, seats on powerful committees and, notwithstanding this year’s disappointing on-field product, ownership of one of the top brands in sports.”
For those keeping score, the No. 1 spot went to someone Jones knows well, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
