Sparks employee promoted to HMA post
Sparks Health System has announced the promotion of Staci Lucius, now the vice president of Sparks Clinic, to director of Physician Practice Management for Division One of Sparks’ parent company, Health Management Associates.
In the new role, Lucius will work with executive officers and physician practice managers of Health Management’s 12 Division 1 hospitals, which includes Sparks Regional Medical Center. For her new post, Lucius and her husband J.R. will be relocating to Charlotte, N.C., at the beginning of January.
At Sparks, Lucius was responsible for the operations of more than 100 health care providers spanning 23 specialties.
A graduate of Fort Smith’s Northside High School, Lucius first “worked” at Sparks as a teen volunteering with the hospital’s “Candy Stripers.” She has since earned a paycheck from Sparks for nearly eight years, advancing through the ranks of the health system’s PremierCare and Sparks Clinic units.
Lucius holds a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University in psychology and rehabilitation science, and a master’s degree in health care administration from Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.
