Two Trade Barbs Over Bank Business
ArkansasBusiness.com quoted MNB’s CEO Lunsford Bridges on April 28 as saying “… We can’t control the lunatic ravings and antics from our critics, but we can all be entertained by them.”
Combs countered the next day with: “Would you loan $35 million to a raving lunatic?”
One of Combs’ beefs with MNB is that the bank allegedly stopped funding a project, which meant he couldn’t complete it, which meant it wouldn’t cash flow.
He blames mark to market and challenges any banker in Arkansas to an open debate on the topic.
“Show me it’s fair and equitable and fair to borrowers,” he said. If a banker can show Combs it’s fair, he’ll renounce his citizenship and leave, he said.
