The night, as all election nights do, brought surprises, tears of joy, tears of sadness, postponed emotions pushed to runoff elections and, most importantly, a reminder that the ballot remains and important part of our society.

There were 8,367 voters in Crawford County, with 51.58% of those votes cast in the Republican primary — somewhat of an oddity for the predominantly Democratic county.

Sebastian County had 16,690 votes, with 62.03% of those in the Republican primaries.
