Law Employment Remains Steady

There’s no shortage of activity in the law industry. According to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of largest law firms, there are 20 firms employing a total of 179 lawyers, a 13 percent increase over 2007 numbers.
Only firms employing four or more lawyers in a Northwest Arkansas-based office were included on the list.
Kutack Rock in Fayetteville became Northwest Arkansas’ largest law firm by number of lawyers, up from the No. 3 slot in 2007. The Bassett Law Firm of Fayetteville slipped to No. 3 from the No. 2 spot and Lisle Law Firm in Springdale dropped from the No. 4 spot in 2007 to a tied No. 8 on 2008’s list.
Nolan Caddell & Reynolds is based in Fort Smith but has operated a Rogers satellite office for a couple of years. The Rogers office now employs four fulltime lawyers and therefore is eligible for inclusion on the list.
