Krystal, Zaxby’s Set For Openings in Northwest Arkansas
Local franchisors are gearing up for more openings.
Krystal Burger, the oldest fast-food franchise in the South, known for its small, square burgers with steamed-in onions, made its Arkansas debut Jan. 28 in Springdale at 1503 S. Thompson.
Taking a page out of the Chick-fil-A playbook, Krystal is celebrating its 75th anniversary by giving away a year’s supply of its signature “sackful” of burgers to the first 12 adults in line for the opening at 10 a.m. Other prizes will be given to the first 75 people in line.
Local franchisor Brian Smith of SmitCo Eateries Inc. plans to open several Krystals in Northwest Arkansas, with the next coming in Rogers on Walnut Avenue later this year, followed by a Fayetteville location on Sixth Street.
Zaxby’s, a popular fresh-prepared chicken restaurant, already with a location in Bentonville, will open its third Northwest Arkansas location in February in Siloam Springs and add 40 to 50 jobs to the city.
Partners Brian Driggers and David Jackson, who own the Bentonville Zaxby’s, opened their Springdale location at 400 N. Thompson Jan. 28 as well.
The Fayetteville Zaxby’s at 1670 W. Sixth St. will also be opening soon.
