Concept Medical Staffing Helps Fill Nursing Gap
After having been a registered nurse for more than 25 years, primarily with Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Rebecca Davis decided it was time do something else.
Davis saw an opportunity to do this when she got a call from a medical staffing agency informing her the company was closing its doors.
The need for qualified nurses at hospitals, nursing homes and other medical facilities around Arkansas and the nation is constant. As a nurse, Davis had acute experience with this, and felt many agencies didn’t focus on getting a nurse or technician with the right qualifications assigned to the right job.
So she started Concept Medical Staffing. The home office in Fort Smith opened in January 2006 and the Little Rock office opened in July of that year.
Davis is currently looking for a Northwest Arkansas location.
“We’re hoping to have it open in the next six months at the latest,” she said.
Working with about 300 available nurses, Davis supplies certified RNs, lab technicians and X-ray technicians to medical facilities around Arkansas.
Concept Medical Staffing brought in about $1.5 million in revenue in 2006, and has made about $1.2 million so far this year. Davis expects 2007 revenue to double that of last year.
Davis said she and her staff are available 24 hours a day.
