Kearney Shifts From Little Rock
General practice attorney Jack Kearney opened his Fayetteville office March 1.
Jack Kearney wants to get the practice on its feet by the time his son, Jason Kearney, graduates from law school in 2008. At which time, the father and son duo will run the private practice firm.
Jack Kearney said he works on nearly any legal matter people could need except bankruptcy and tax law. His practice includes wills/estates, personal injury and civil law. But many people look to him for matters of criminal law, which makes up about 50 percent of his legal load. He expects to carry a similar load in Fayetteville.
“In the criminal field, it seems your reputation brings more clients than any other field,” Jack Kearney said.
Criminal fees start at $500, but hourly rates usually range from $100 to $250.
Jack Kearney has an established practice in Little Rock, which he first opened in 1981.
He took a position with the Arkansas Ethics Commission, and served as both chairman and executive director. He then returned to his practice in 1994.
