When Andy Cordischi isn’t jumping out of airplanes, rappelling off of cliffs or playing poker, he keeps busy by handling his customers’ technology and logistics needs.

He finished his undergraduate studies in economics at Indiana University, graduating in 1993, and is currently finishing an MBA at Webster University.

He came to Northwest Arkansas to work for JB Hunt Logistics, where he worked from 1994 to 1998. He led a professional services consulting group with Clicklogistics from 1998 to 2002, when he started with BNSF Logistics.

As director of technology and engineering at BNSF, Cordischi provides customers with functional business approaches to technology.

The highlight of his career was creating a low-cost network based on open-source software. For this, he was presented a Network World Enterprise All-Star Award, an honor given out for outstanding IT projects. Cordischi stressed the importance of designing functional software that meets customer needs. His goal for the next few years is to help BNSF continue to grow.

Outside of work, his family is what inspires him, especially when it comes to being a positive male role model, he said.

Cordischi also serves on the Juvenile Diabetes board.
