BancorpSouth Bank is apparently planning to open an office at Metropark, a large-scale development on the north side of Pinnacle Hills that is owned by Haynes Ltd. of Rogers.
BancorpSouth, which is chartered out of Tupelo, Miss., recently closed the purchase of 2.4 acres of land at the development, easily enough for a large facility. The land is zoned C-4.
The bank, which had $11.8 billion in assets as of June 30, recently announced an agreement to purchase City Bancorp, the parent company of The Signature Bank of Springfield, Mo., in a deal valued at $170 million.
Also in Metropark, the Aloft hotel recently closed on the sale of Lot 18 in the Metropark South subdivision, which 2.1 acres and zoned C-2. The five-story, $12 million building will include 136 rooms and is being developed by Whitt Properties LLC of Fort Smith.
Purchase prices were not disclosed.
