Crye-Leike Realtors hasn’t even started selling out of its newly-built Rogers branch, but the sixth largest real estate company in the country already is expanding in Northwest Arkansas.
Crye-Leike is currently in the due diligence phase of purchasing 2 acres to build another branch on E. Stearns Street in north Fayetteville. It’s planned for about 17,000 SF.
“We have a five-year plan that potentially includes nine offices here,” said Harold Crye, CEO and co-founder of Crye-Leike. “We’ve got nine offices in Little Rock and this market does more volume than Little Rock, so we feel very good about coming here and expanding right away.”
Crye said he’s still researching the area, but tentative plans would include two branches in Bentonville, two in Fayetteville, and one each in Springdale, Rogers, Siloam Springs, Bella Vista and Farmington.
The Memphis-based company had sales of $5.6 billion with 34,039 closed transactions companywide in 2005, according to REAL Trends Inc., a provider of information and analysis for the residential real estate industry.
Crye-Leike has 104 branch and franchise offices in seven states with a network of more than 3,300 associates.
Crye-Leike is the second largest real estate company in the state with $611 million in residential sales in 2005 behind Fayetteville’s Lindsey & Associates Inc., which sold $704 million the same year.
It first expanded into Arkansas with an office in West Memphis in 1997.
