Former Sen. Jon Woods, R-Springdale

In January, Jon Woods will be the youngest member of the newly elected Arkansas General Assembly. After winning the Republican primary in May, Woods, who also works as a loan officer for ANB Financial, will run unopposed in the general election in November.

Woods has always felt a strong desire to serve his community. As a college student, Woods took 18 months off from his classes to campaign for regional Republican candidates in the 1998 elections. As a senior marketing major at the University of Arkansas in 2001, Woods worked as an intern in the Walton Colleges Small Business Development Center and developed an affinity for helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals.

Woods graduated in 2002 and began working in general banking at Arvest Bank. He joined ANB in March of this year and in his role once again enjoys helping entrepreneurs to build their businesses.

Woods, who volunteers as a Big Brother and also serves as the Northwest Arkansas Membership Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, sees Northwest Arkansas as the economic engine of the state and looks forward to helping his community both as a banker and a public servant for quite some time to come.
