After his career in television production, Barry Cobbs moved his family from California to Northwest Arkansas and opened Live Light Media Services Inc. Cobbs owns the multimedia production venture with his brother Bart Cobbs, California resident Patty Bolter, and two silent partners. Live Light Inc., a lighting service in Fresno, Calif., also owns part of the business.

Live Light Media Services sells custom video products, including in-store promotional tapes, employee training videos and infomercials. Barry Cobbs and a staff of two write, direct, produce and distribute the videos for corporate clients.

Headquartered in a 600-SF building in downtown Rogers, the company also offers Web-based and CD-Rom services.

Cobbs plans to market the business locally and nationally. Ideally, he said, the company will cater to a small number of large clients.

Although Cobbs did not disclose the costs of launching Live Light Media Services, he said he plans to keep overhead relatively low by buying or leasing specific pieces of equipment as the need for them arises. Cobbs purchased a collection of basic production necessities, such as cameras, but each project will require its own supplies.

While in California, Cobbs worked on television shows such as “In Living Color,” “The Late Show with Arsenio Hall” and “Hollywood Squares.” He also helped produce syndicated news shows from 1996-2001.
