Springdale Business Picks Up Tijuana Trailers

Bell Trailer & Equipment, a division of Bell International Inc. in Lowell, has picked up a new line of trailers from a Mexican manufacturing plant.

Hyundai custom builds its trailers in Tijuana, Mexico to a client’s own specifications. Hyundai is relatively new in the trailer business, but has been a big maker of of containers and chassis for many years, including doing contract work for the U.S. Marine Corps.

Hyundai hopes to build a plant in the U.S. when it reaches enough markets. Bell has already sold some of the Hyundai trailers to Simmons Industries of Siloam Springs and is hoping to get in with other local companies soon.

Bell Trailer & Equipment also has a Monon line of trailers out of Indiana. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
