Manry?s Ascension Won?t Change Focus

Bank of America has long encouraged its local business clients to do more exporting and to diversify into international markets. With 4,400 domestic and 38 international offices, said the company’s new Northwest Arkansas President Larry Manry, the sun never sets on Bank of America.

On March 13, Manry replaced Don Gibson who has assumed the company’s statewide president role in Little Rock. Manry said the bank’s local strategy won’t change.

“We were talking to a prospect just the other day who had some issues with their current letters of credit being accepted in Hong Kong,” Manry said. “Well, we have a location there and we can streamline that process and lower their costs. Our international capacity adds so much to what our customers need.

“We even have trade experts who can come in and assist customers in finding a particular market that’s right for them.”

Manry has led Bank of America’s Northwest Arkansas’ commercial lending department since 1997 and has been with the firm and its predecessors since 1985.

As the branch’s senior executive, Manry said, his challenge is now to bring the strength of America’s largest bank to its local clients and to help the market grow.

“Because of the depth and breadth of our company’s balance sheet, we’re able to deliver some things that have not been seen here yet,” Manry said.
