Industry Report – Okla. Arvest Bank Merger

Arvest United Bank of Oklahoma City is merging into Arvest Bank of Norman, Okla., and both its main facility and branches will now operate as branches of the Norman bank.
rArvest United has assets of about $185 million and Arvest Bank of Norman’s assets are about $255 million.
rThe new partnership will operate under the name Arvest Bank. A total of 19 locations in both cities are affected.
r”We will continue to operate just like the banks in Northwest Arkansas,” said the Norman bank’s president, Neil Schemmer. “We’re still going to be very community oriented and keep our local boards. There are no new banks taken in by the arrangement, but we plan to open another location in Oklahoma City very soon.”
