Faucette Turns On Students With Web
Fayetteville’s Faucette School of Real Estate, a click-and-mortar school housed in the offices of Coldwell Banker Faucette Real Estate, launched its information-based Web site in July. Since that time, Faucette school director Paul R. Bynum said students have been able to sign up for courses through the 80-page site.
Of the people who still phone to inquire about classes, Bynum said, 60 percent have e-mail addresses. So he’s sending the potential students an e-mail with information on how to go to www.realestate-school.net and learn about everything from industry regulations to course schedules.
He has also developed a nifty e-mail address list of 400 agents in Northwest Arkansas that may be used for e-mail marketing.
The Faucette school, designed to help prospective agents get their basic real estate license, was started in June 1999. It has graduated 135 students since its inception.
Bynum said his program is great for University of Arkansas students who are interested in real estate. The state allows agents to count 45 college hours toward the 60 they need to be licensed, he said.
“We offer 16 hours of Arkansas real estate law courses that are not offered by the university, so it’s a perfect adjunct to the university,” Bynum said.
Tuition for 60 hours at the Faucette school is $250 including text books and materials.
