La Familia Mexican Restaurant of Fayetteville closed Feb. 29 after five years in business.
The restaurant operated in a small space at 716 W. Sycamore St. for more than four years, moving in late 1998 to 514 N. College Ave.
Patricia Unseld, co-owner of the restaurant, said the move helped business, but making fresh food daily and competing with all the other restaurants that have opened in the area made it difficult to make a profit.
“It’s just too much work for so little profit,” she said.
