Interstate 540 LLC, a holding company comprised of a group of local physicians and developers Jim Knight and David Pruitt of Russellville, spent $2 million to acquire 40 acres just off Great House Springs Road in Johnson to build a hospital.

The 96,000-SF facility will be called Willow Creek Women’s Hospital and specialize in women’s care. Included on the 40-acre site will be patient education rooms, a birthing facility, physicians’ offices, an exercise center, emergency room and other offices for medical procedures. Of the 34 usable acres, 10.5 will be used for the hospital.

The developers hope to sell the unused 24 acres for the development of other medical facilities. McIlroy Bank & Trust Co. of Fayetteville handled the financing.

Knight and Pruitt own Real Practices Inc. of Russellville, which is the general contractor. The goal is to create a hospital that attracts women.

MediSphere Inc. of Nashville, Tenn., will manage the facility.
