Joining forces for the first time in Northwest Arkansas, five spinal specialists recently opened a new clinic for back and neck problems. Although medical doctors often open offices together, this clinic is designed to address all aspects of spinal problems.
Two family practitioners, an orthopedic surgeon, a chiropractor, and a psychotherapist join their nurses to form the clinic staff. Dr. Steve Whitelaw, the chiropractor, is excited to see such a combination of treatments under one roof.
“People can come here and have their problems addressed quickly,” Whitelaw says.
Larger cities have already seen different types of doctors practice together, but Whitelaw says this is a first for Northwest Arkansas.
Whitelaw had his own office for two years before the clinic opened, and he also travels to serve the University of Arkansas Razorbacks at their games.
Each of the doctors’ separate disciplines offer a wide range of assistance for people suffering from spinal problems.
New equipment for special spinal injuries also enlarged the clinic’s range of service. Each of the doctors contributed money to purchase a DRS, a machine that offers an alternative to lower-back surgery for hernias.
Medicaid, Medicare and all major insurance coverage are accepted at the clinic, and Whitelaw says the clinic is for anyone with back trouble.
