It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the Northwest Arkansas Physicians’ Health Plan, the insurance plan promulgated by members of the NWA Independent Physicians Association.

But that’s about to change. Apparently, some big changes are in store for the plan, which, at its peak, insured about 14,000 people in Northwest Arkansas. With about 200 participating physicians in Washington and Benton counties, PHP offered the largest choice of physicians of any plan we’ve seen. But administrative difficulties have plagued the plan in recent months.

We can’t spill the beans, yet, because of some legal technicalities – contracts and such – but, expect to see an aggressive marketing plan kick in soon.
