Mercy’s Bella Vista Clinic Adds New Equipment
The number of patients using Bella Vista Medical Center has grown so much that the clinic added a third physician, Dr. Richard Miles, to its staff last fall. Miles, an internist, moved from Joplin, Mo., and joined the clinic’s staff of Dr. Donald Daut, also an internist, and Dr. Hunter Steadman, a family practice physician.
Other additions to the clinic have been technological ones. Cindy Bosley, the clinic’s manager, says a state-of-the-art mammography machine has replaced older equipment that had been used there.
The clinic has also added a new “elevating and floating” X-ray table that adjusts so a patient can sit easily and then “floats” to proper adjustment for the X-ray machine, Bosley says.
Bella Vista Medical Center is one of 11 Mercy clinics – including Mercy Health Center in Bentonville – that will soon be using a centralized computer system. The new system, Bosley says, will allow families to get just one bill, even when various members of the family use different clinics within the network. That new system is expected to be fully operational by the end of June.
