It’s All About.com Being User Friendly
Miningcompany.com has changed its name to About.com. One of the top 25 sites on the Internet, the information site/engine is undergoing a $15 million marketing campaign that’s emphasizing giving customers personalized service.
The site is using 650 people from across the country who are specialists in a variety of fields as site guides. Instead of visitors getting lost in search engines, About.com will feature guides on line who can point people to the places they want to go. Arkansas.net’s Schertel is the only guide from Arkansas.
She says guides are writing weekly articles and helping to build on-line communities for specific topics to help give the site a human touch.
