We hear there’s another attempt under way to bring commercial development to Fayetteville’s west side, specifically in the area where U.S. Highway 71 and Wedington Drive intersect.
A rezoning petition filed with Fayetteville’s Planning Office for the property on the southeast corner of the intersection reveals the developer’s intention is to build a “mixed-use regional shopping center.” The petition would extend C-2 or thoroughfare commercial zoning to a larger portion of the property. The petition was filed by Paul Marinoni as representative for PAM Angus Limited Partnership.
Fayetteville’s Planning Commission takes up the petition on Aug. 10.
