One signal that Northwest Arkansas is growing in commerce and economy is the fact that there is a demand for luxury boats. Port Arrowhead Boat Dealership offers storage and financing, full service, sales, brokerage, and parts and accessories.
“There are a lot of large boat owners in Northwest Arkansas but they have had to go out of state to buy their boats,” says Bill Schwyhart, who, with his partner, Robert Thornton, owns the property that Port Arrowhead is leasing.
The Rogers dealership is Port Arrowhead’s sixth location. The six locations are linked by computer, which gives each location the inventory and buying power of the entire Port Arrowhead chain.
“If you want something they don’t have, they can get it overnight,” says Schwyhart.
An authorized dealer for Sea Ray and Gibson Houseboats, Port Arrowhead will have demo boats available at Prairie Creek Marina for demonstration rides by appointment. The store offers extensive financing, including long term leasing. Schwyhart adds that the larger boats are also tax deductible because they are considered second homes.
