Old Navy, a division of Gap Inc. of San Francisco, is looking to open a clothing store in Fayetteville.
A property owner who requested anonymity says Old Navy has looked at one of his properties but is still considering other sites in Fayetteville.
The decision to open an Old Navy store apparently comes in the wake of impressive sales figures at the Gap store that opened last June in the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
In addition to Gap stores, the 900-store chain has 305 Old Navy stores and 265 Banana Republic stores.
Gap is expanding Old Navy, planning to open between 100 and 200 new stores this year. Old Navy targets lower and middle-income shoppers. At 30 percent, sales growth for Old Navy stores open a year or more was the highest of all Gap chains in May.
