Cupits Next Target

The Mortgage Connection is the latest creation of Michael and Bert Cupit, brothers, business partners and owners of Cupit Street Century 21.

We understand it’s part of the Cupits’ plan to offer one-stop service, from selling the house to financing the purchase, even eventually providing title services and termite protection. The idea is to speed up the financing process, reducing the average time between application and approval to about 10 days.

Already, the Cupits have hired five people to work in the mortgage company and Arvest Mortgage Co. will be the primary — but not the sole — source of funds. Loans will be made to real estate customers of other companies as well as those who use the Cupits’ Century 21 agency.

Reportedly, the company is on track to do $100 million in real estate transactions this year, and officials expect the mortgage company to do between $10 million and $20 million for the remaining six months of this year.
